Front drag spinning reel with 9 steel ball bearings in Japan-Quality
With the BLACK STAR Z we entered a new dimension in CORMORAN reel manufacturing. Together with Japanese engineers we developed a reel, which didn't exist in such manner in our history before. We entered areas of micro-tolerance, which are locked for normal reels. Thus we could reduce the tolerance of the spool, which is an annoying obstacle with normal front drag reels, to a minimum in all directions. Thanks to highest precision and smallest tolerances even the handle backlash has been minimized in such dramatic manner, that it's not worth to talk about.
The complete construction of this new generation of CORMORAN reels is based on the vision, to present a reel, which runs fluent, resists highest strains and provides fishing fun for many years. The body and the rotor are made of distortion proof super light weight aluminum. All parts of the gear are made of stainless materials like stainless steel or brass. The shaft is additionally coated with titanium for an extra long lifespan. The drive pinion is made of brass with an extra high hardness grade.
The smooth running and the small resistance when turning the handle result from a special construction of the axis lift, whose parts are produced with highest precision. An additional highlight are the carbon dragging discs, which are located splash proof in the front of the spool. They improve the dragging considerably und guarantee a smooth drawing of the line.
